Toasty!

Toasty!

We’re going into Monsterpocalypse overload, with yet another preview from the upcoming “I Chomp NY” expansion. The Scorcher (and the amazing Elite Scorcher) will really light up your Planet Eaters force.

Scorcher:

Speed: 5

Defense: 3

Brawl: 2

Brawl Boost: 0

Blast: 2

Blast Boost: 0

Range: Short

Cost: 1

Abilities: Chain Reaction, Flight

Elite Scorcher

Speed: 5

Defense: 3

Brawl: 2

Brawl Boost: 1

Blast: 2

Blast Boost: 1

Range: Short

Cost: 2

Abilities: Chain Reaction, Flight, Leadership, Power-Cycle (Red)

What sets the Elite version apart? Aside from the boost dice, it has Leadership, and it introduces Power Cycle to the Planet Eaters faction. What good is Power Cycle on a non-monster, you ask? Lots of good when it’s red Power Cycle, granting the ability to recycle used Power Dice to any adjacent faction monster. Keep Gorghadra surrounded by a nice cluster of Scorchers and an Elite Scorcher or two, and he’ll be tearing through your opponent like a guy in a rubber suit through meticulously crafted miniature Japanese buildings.

Check your local game stores, they might have tournaments planned, and I’m sure someone there would demo the game for you or let you try a match.

Yea, my problem is I currently don’t have a local gamestore. Maybe during spring break I’ll swing by, but this is something I would love to try. Also, any chance you could poke around about CCGs? Those tend to be cheaper than minis, and often have some cool stuff. Ever see the history channel card game? That wasn’t bad at all.

After checking the wiki it looks like Anachronism is officially dead.
sad day, but if you can find any of the packs around give it a try, it plays like a miniatures game, but with cards. Also, the Ninja is the most powerful out of the box char. Look out for that one.

Poking about in the references, apparently there’s been a few more sets than I thought. I started playing it at the beginning, and the ninja was scary back when the rules said that your stuff had to match your race, it could kill first turn, and always killed second turn.
