Worldwide D&D Game Day Coming Up This Weekend
Wizards of the Coast is celebrating the release of the Player’s Handbook 2 this weekend with their third Worldwide D&D Game Day. Head to a local game store and run through a fun adventure with some pregenerated characters that will let you try out the new races and classes.
If you’ve been waiting for a chance to try out 4th Edition D&D, or just want to check out the new PHB2 goodies, Worldwide Game Day is a great way to do it. The official page will show you the way to the nearest participating game store. Maybe you’ll find a new local shop, and meet some new players while you’re at it. All the fun goes down on Saturday, March 21.
Just what will you be doing at Game Day? Running through a 2-3 hour adventure called “One Dark Night in Weeping Briar.” You’ll have your pick of pre-rolled characters using the new races and classes from PHB2 (plus a sneak preview of some Divine Power material).
We just received a hot-off-the-presses copy of the new Handbook here at Robot Viking – this week and next, we’ll be going over the eight new classes one at a time. And if you’d like to connect with other D&D fans and discuss the new stuff, head over to the brand new D&D Facebook page. Tell ‘em Robot Viking sent you!

I am going to Eldritch Blast a cultist of Orcus in the face SO HARD…

Yay! I am looking forward to the classes overview. One class every other day?

Not really a set schedule. I have a huge pile of awesome new books from White Wolf to work in, and I am trying desperately to find time to get the Project: Death Race alpha rules ready for this week.

Thanks Ed! I’ll take what I can get, when I can get it.

Cannot wait! I’m still holding out that they will bring back my gnomes.

I can confirm that, yes, gnomes have returned. I’m not going to review the new races in detail (I’m sort of meh about new D&D races, since 90% of players play humans or elves anyway), but gnomes are there.

Ed, that is the opposite of my crew of lunatics– we are all over the place in terms of monster races & all that rot.

I have to agree with both mordicai and Ed. My group is a mix, we have 2 Dragon born, a Minotaur and a Tiefling. But we also have an Eladrin, and two humans (granted one is a psycho cleric of the Raven Queen, so massive creativity points to him). The playing of an elf actually started a semi-fight with my husband-elect and I (he is the Eladrin, I’m the Tiefling). To many people miss out on the fun times that can be had a barbarian Gnome or a Dwarven cleric… Anywho, rant over.
