It is KIND of fun to do it with some buddies...but not enough for me to buy paints, or even set aside time to do it more often then lets say once a year. So pre-painted is the best, for me. Very true. As for using minis where they shouldn't go, everything in my neck of the woods is represented with Warhammer40k or Heroscape stuff. When the warrior's a Space Marine and the Orks have guns and the mage is a WWII paratrooper and you're playing a forgotten realms campaign, people look at you funny. True. Very true.
