Get Free Gaming Stuff This Weekend

June 12th, 2009 by Ed Grabianowski

gwppromo_productsIf you were planning on buying some gaming stuff (Wizards of the Coast gaming stuff, specifically) this weekend, you’re in luck. You can score some free Wizards merch to go along with your purchase. You don’t even have to mail in a rebate or anything – you’ll get your free stuff right there at the game store.

To get some free gaming stuff, just visit a participating game store (no online stores, this is to support the brick and mortar retailers) and spend at least $15 on Wizards of the Coast products. If you do, you’ll get your choice of some Magic: the Gathering sample decks, a booster pack from the Demonweb expansion of D&D minis, a Star Wars minis Clone Wars starter pack or a hard cover copy of R.A. Salvatore’s The Orc King.

Wizards has a full list of the participating stores here. That Clone Wars starter is pretty nice, though I’m leaning toward a Demonweb booster myself (nevermind, Buffalo is a black hole of gaming stores, no participating FLGS for me). But then, I’m not an R.A. Salvatore fan, so a free hard cover novel might just be the best deal going for those that are.

Okay, that’s just plain cool. WOTC has some sharp marketing folks driving the bus. The super cool part is that I go by two game shops on my way home this afternoon.

BTW, thank you Robot Viking for hooking a brother up.

I wonder if Heroscape stuff counts, now that it’s WotC in-house. I had intended to pick up some additional units this evening…

Darn. I would consider buying the Adventurer’s Vault or Martial Power if they had this going on in the Buffalo area.

WooHoo! Someplace in the SFV is actually participating. (Usually the SFV is shafted when it comes to this kind of stuff.) I don’t have to drive 20 miles to find a place. Clone Wars starter pack, here I come!
