Origins 2009! Prepare for Full Robot Viking Coverage
This week is the Origins Game Fair in Columbus, OH, and Robot Viking will be there with all the latest news and reviews on games and gaming products. It’s going to be an awesome week.
Planning for Origins (and getting my day job work done ahead of time) takes up a lot of time and effort, so Robot Viking will be going on hiatus for the early part of this week. Hopefully, the deluge of gaming news starting Thursday and lasting through the weekend will make up for it. Plus, there’s a chance I’ll have a guest or two fill in while I’m gone.
If you’re going to be at Origins, feel free to use the comment thread below to arrange any Viking meetups at the con. I’ll check the thread all week and weekend, so maybe we can get some gaming in. I’ll have my Magic Standard deck with me, and I might even bring the Project: Death Race rules and cars along.
Speaking of Project: Death Race, Origins has delayed the latest release slightly. Work has been done, but I need to recalibrate vehicle and equipment costs before I can redo the pdf. Soon!
Also, stay tuned for a special announcement regarding this year’s Gen Con.

I think I’m headed to Origins. Haven’t plotted a schedule of events at all. Will be a very winged event. Looking forward to it.

Yeah, I usually take a very “seat of my pants” approach to it, even as press. I’ll make more of a plan when I get there Wednesday night and get my hands on the events book. I’m definitely going to be playing in the Magic convention league though (standard format). Of course, everyone here knows what deck I’ll be using…

My Waterdeep Colossus deck? Hey, you won’t even need the Angel in a few weeks cuz they’re removing mana burn!

By the way, tomorrow I’ve got five preview cards from the Magic 2010 set to autopost while I’m driving to Columbus. And the week after that there’s a Robot Viking exclusive preview card coming, plus, hopefully an interview with Aaron Forsythe (head of Magic R&D and lead designer on the 2010 set).

Forsythe is the head of the Development part, Mark Rosewater is the head of the part that writes cards. You don’t want to go into the interview misinformed.
