The visuals are fantastic, the combat is fun from a melee perspective and the story is immersive. I must say that it gets a little boring after level 60. I have since uninstalled AoC, though I still get tempted to go back and lop off some heads. D&D Online (DDO) Is a fairly good game. One of the best features it touts is the active combat that allows every click to equal a swing of your axe or sword. You can actively block and you can actually move out of the way of spells. It's fun if you have a some friends that you like to group with but it is not so solo friendly. You can apply for the beta test of the free to play and you're likely going to get a invite to try it out. CoH/CoV was one of my favorite games. Who in their right mind hasn't wanted to be a super hero? I loved the game and have played since launch. I'm also following Champions Online very closely and intend to play that game to the ends of the earth. Check it out if you haven't already. But it does require a certain amount of dedication to learn how to play and to get good. But I love how rich and open the economic systems are. If you're ever in one of those "I'm have nothing much to do for the next three months and want to really devote myself to a game" situations, EVE is the one. My personal favorite has always been City of Heroes, though I'm on hiatus from the game at the moment. I have a 50 there. I have indeed played EVE, and it is one of the best MMORPGs ever. It is one of the most beautiful games I have ever played, both graphically and structurally. There is no equivalent in WoW to the experience of hauling several million isk (dollars) worth of trade goods on a 12 system run through low security space and getting insta-exploded by a 4 battleship gate-camp. I can imagine it feels pretty good to the battleship pilots, too. Ed, if you haven’t tried it, I highly recommend Eve Online.
