Collect virtual cards, then assemble a combat deck and face off against your online opponent in a duel of magic and swordplay with Rise & Ruin, a browser-based collectible fighting game that’s currently in open beta testing. That means you get to try this one out for free, too.

Head over to the Rise & Ruin official site right now to check out trailers and game images. The premise is clear — you collect “cards” that allow your character to make various attack and defend actions in a one-on-one battle. We’ll have a review next week, but until then, jump into the open beta and check it out for yourself!

There’s a FAQ about making it work in Firefox.

Also, it is beta testing after all.

Oh, I fully understand beta testing. When I finally got the game to run I got a nice little “Input Off” message that didn’t let me interact with anything, couldn’t even file a bug report, had to close the browser then actually do stuff that didn’t involve the computer
I’ll give it another try later.
