Rise of the Eldrazi Puzzle Contest — Part 2
The time has come for the second part of the puzzle.
Click here for the official contest rules. Click here for part 1 (I’m going to leave the first two parts up an extra day so latecomers have a shot at working out the secret code).
When Sorin Markov arrived at a Kor cliff-fisher village, he found the citizens in quite an uproar. There had been a murder the night before. Curious, he investigated. The murder scene was gruesome, but there was no body. The only clue was an old book, the fragmentary pages filled with ravings about other-dimensional creatures and other unnameable horrors.
On the inside cover, Markov found two additional clues: the first was a set of initials, but they were obscured by a deep blood stain (which reminded him that it was nearly time for lunch). The other was a strange set of numbers. He couldn’t make any sense of it, but he figured if he could determine who’d owned the book, he might be able to track down the murderer.

Ok, apparently, using a Google Books preview was a poor choice. Fortunately, Gavin has discovered that you can use the preview at Amazon to see the book. Here’s the link. You can use the search button on the left of the page to search for individual page numbers, if for some reason you needed to find specific page numbers…

ggodo, were you able to eventually decipher this? Don’t reveal the answer or anything, but were you able to at least get some kind of answer? I want to make sure this is functional, that people can find it using the Amazon preview, etc.

I just want to make sure the “decipher the numbers” part is working out for anyone who tries it. Once you’ve decoded the message, figuring out the three letter code you’re on your own for.

oh, I still got nothing on the numbers, if they are page numbers then you need an amazon account to see the pages, which I am currently getting to see if it will let me read further, I might be hitting a bookstore tomorrow, though.

I think Ed has inadvertently reinforced the validity of this type of puzzle.

So I have it narrowed down to the card, now just trying to figure out what 3 letters are used for the answer….
