Paneswalker Decks Take DotP from Online to the Gaming Table

June 4th, 2010 by Ed Grabianowski

The original decks from the Duels of the Planeswalkers video game will now be available as actual, physical decks. They hit stores today.

There are five decks total, one each for Garruk, Nissa, Liliana, Jace and Chandra (the planeswalkers themselves do not appear in the decks). The decklists seem to be slightly toned down versions of the ones that appear in the game — Nissa’s deck in particular looks to have suffered from nerfing. Still, the decks are evenly balanced and fun — notice they didn’t include Elspeth’s deck, which is pretty much the opposite of fun.

This particular branch of the Magic family tree is by now looking pretty convoluted. The tabletop game became the video game, but not the older online version of the game, and not the older video game version that had the same name, and now has moved back to the tabletop around the same time that it moved from Xbox to PC. I’m just waiting for a McFarlane Liliana figure (seriously, that would be awesome).

The retail price is $14.99 per deck, and they come with five rares, one of them foil. Here are links to the full decklists:
