Knee Deep in Magic
As the Community Cup rolls on, I find myself involved in some intense matches. I just beat Magic Hall of Famer Mike Turian in Rise of the Eldrazi sealed.
I should point out, however, that about five other community team members were gathered around me throughout my match, coaching me through and helping me make a ton of decisions. It was a complicated deck to play: lots of levelers and a Gideon Jura. They definitely caught some of Turian’s plays that I would have just walked right into by myself. I also beat Lee Sharpe in the second round with less help. Still, it’s been a team effort all the way. Since the RoE event had to be cut one round short due to time constraints and technical difficulties (I actually pulled a Gideon in my first packs that were lost to a glitch, then opened another Gideon in the second batch), I’m currently undefeated.
I won’t have too much in-depth reporting during the day today since I’m busy playing. Almost as soon as the RoE sealed event ends we move to the Commander unified event. But I’ll be posting results and comments to the Robot Viking Twitter feed (find the link at the upper right of the page), and there’s lots more coverage going on at the Community Cup coverage site.
So far the community team is wrecking the house. We’re pretty far ahead in points. The Commander event is our weak link, though, so things might be a little closer before tomorrow’s final event (Standard) begins.

I want to know about the Commander Unified, that seems like that’ll be awesome.
