Reunite Your Old Gaming Group with the Second Annual Never Split the Party Contest
It’s been years since you’ve seen those guys, your old high school friends that all learned and played D&D together, shared hilarious mishaps and adventures that remain etched on your memory to this day. Wouldn’t it be great if you could all get together again? And if it could be at Gen Con this year? And if Wizards of the Coast made it happen?
Last year, Wizards introduced the Never Split the Party contest, reuniting a group of gamers and flying them to Indianapolis for a Gen Con gaming group reunion. It was such a smashing (and piercing, and slashing) success that they’re bringing it back this year. To enter, you have to write a 300 word essay explaining how your gaming group got together, your favorite gaming traditions, why you split up, and why Wizards should bring you back together. Up to six people can be included (so, your DM plus the fighter, the mage, the rogue, the cleric and the half-minotaur bard/assassin/paladin).
The full details are at the official contest page, though the actual entry form itself is at the Wizards promotions page. The deadline is July 5, so you don’t have much time to get in touch with everyone, write your essay and submit it.
I have two pieces of advice: keep in mind that the rules state entries will be judged on 50 percent creativity and 50 percent nostalgia, and if you win, leave extra room in your suitcase for the trip home.
