Gamma World Game Day is This Weekend

October 21st, 2010 by Ed Grabianowski

If you’re not totally sure if Gamma World is right for you, this weekend is the perfect opportunity to take it for a test run. It’s Worldwide Gamma World Game Day on October 3rd.

Head down to your local game store this Saturday, where a GM will be running a new Gamma World adventure that explores the origins of this strange universe-hopping place full of mutants and crazy technology. The adventure, Trouble in Freesboro, written by Robert Schwalb, sounds a lot more interesting than the one in the Gamma World boxed set.

Players will get a couple of Gamma World booster packs, plus some exclusive  promo cards just for participating. There are also rumors about some kind of online access that helps you out in the middle of the adventure, so those of us with smart phones have a leg up. You can find the full details, as well as a store locator so you can check if your FLGS is running GWGD, at the Wizards of the Coast events page.

My son and I will be at our local store, North Coast Roleplaying! However, I was told you had to buy the two packs of boosters, but there are two promo cards to be given out.

Yes, I should have been more clear, I think there’s a fee to play, but you get the two boosters (so you are effectively buying the boosters).

In any case, have fun and let us know how it went!

My son and I had a GREAT time and only half the group (there were six of us) were wiped out on the first encounter! (those DAMN BIRDS!!!!) Had to leave before it finished, but I am SOOOOO getting a copy of this when it comes back into stock! All my local sourced sold out right before payday, so I was unable to get myself a copy. (Maybe I should start a blog, get well known and WOTC will kick down a copy to review!! lol)
