It’s Witch Day at Robot Viking
Having a team of Pathfinder reviewers is pretty awesome if only because, hey, more Pathfinder reviews! But when both Billy and DungeonGrrrl turned in reviews of products related to the (relatively) new witch class, I figured we might as well roll with it. So, all-out witch theme day!
This could easily devolve into a horrible Abbot & Costello routine (“It’s witch day!” “Monday.” “No, witch day.” “Which day?” “Exactly.”). This actually happens when we play 4E D&D, pretty much every time our warlock casts Witchfire. “Which fire?” “This fire…”
So before we reach that point, I present to you an exclusive preview from the upcoming Magic set, Mirrodin Embiggened. (Thanks to Kelly Digges, from whom I shamelessly stole this idea). And no, the joke is not that there are no creatures with the witch subtype in Magic. By the way, does modern pop culture even do witches that aren’t sexy anymore? Not that I’m necessarily complaining, but whatever happened to crones and hags?
And finally, before we get to the actual reviews, here’s this video, which (witch!) I find unspeakably hilarious for some reason.

Ed, you should know as well as I that Crones and Hags are in the Bestiary because they just aren’t as Classy as Witches. Besides, Pathfinder added poisoned apples just so that Witches could knock folks out til their prince comes.

So, uh…poisoned apple = date rape drug?

Well, I was making fun of that horrendous song from Snow White. You made it dirty. It knocks people out until either a big dispell effect or a kiss from someone of royal blood. Combined with Beguiling Gift it’s pretty much the best way to oneshot any boss monster for about a thousand gold. Also, a great plot device for GMs.
