D&D Monster Builder Beta Takes First Steps Toward Integration
DDI gave limited beta access to the new Monster Builder a few weeks ago. Here’s a quick look.
The first image is the main monster view. Looks pretty much the same as the old one. Runs smooth. Plenty of filters. The Import button works. I was able to import a monster earlier and it saved under my account.
The second is the view through the Customize button. As you can see, there is very little customization available at this time. You can change the level of the monster with the slider and it adjusts everything accordingly. You can change the names of powers, but that is as far as you can get. You can’t add powers or change existing ones. I’m guessing that it is temporary. I know their main goal is the ability to integrate it and the Character Builder with the Virtual Table. Once they do that, they’ll probably add more functionality.
As a beta, we shouldn’t get too worried about what features are included, since they’re trying out various systems and working out bugs. But this does give you an idea of what it looks like.

All images on RV that have a larger version now should be automatically clickable to see the full size image.
