Iron GM Prizes Keep Getting More Insane — $1,000 to Win!
Thanks to some new sponsors, the Iron GM contest at Total Con will award some seriously lavish prizes to both winning GMs and participating players.
As Rone Barton mentioned in the comments of last week’s Iron GM post, the winning GM, in addition to the trip to Gen Con, will get a check for $1,000. I hope they use one of those huge novelty checks.
You don’t have to win, or even GM, to score some swag. All those hopeful Iron GMs need players to slaughter and entertain. It costs a $5 event fee to play, but not only do you get a few hours of RPG excellence, you get $50 worth of books and subscriptions. If you’re anywhere near Boston for Total Con, I’m thinking you should probably make plans to be there.
All the prizes are the result of the organizers’ tireless efforts to secure sponsors. Just who are those sponsors? Gaming Paper, makers of fine gaming paper; OffWorld Designs, crafters of hilarious gaming related t-shirts; and Mindgene, developer of D20Pro, a virtual game table for, yes, D20.

I almost bought some gaming paper once. But that would mandate I’d actually have to prepare before running a game. Madness.

I just took a look at the virtual game table . . . sweet. And my speakers are fritzing so I had to turn off the sound.

Well Gavin, I prepared for tonight . . . Bwahahahaha!

The best laid plans of mice and DMs… burn as readily as the paper on which they are written.
It was really epic though. I’m really digging your troop swarm mechanic.

Maybe i’ll post it on RV. Clearly I gave you guys too much support! or the GS troops didn’t have enough artillery.
