Track Your Stats With This Digital Pathfinder Character Sheet

January 16th, 2012 by Ed Grabianowski

Whether you’re playing in a forum or email campaign and want to track your Pathfinder character online, or just prefer a clear, easy to use character sheet to run on your laptop at the game table, DPS 2.0 will do the trick.

DPS 2.0 is a small, free program that takes care of all the basic pathfinder info. It autofills enough stats to make life easier (like ability bonuses for skills), but leaves enough control in the hands of the player to let you incorporate house rules and homemade magic items. It’s very bare bones, which is nice compared to a lot of the bloated online character tools out there. It does what you need it to, and it’s such a lightweight program it will run fine on your old laptop. Head over to creator Matthew Gill’s blog to download it. This was a labor of love for him, and he provides it for free, so be sure to leave him a comment if you try it and find it useful.

By the way, if you’re on the lookout for a good printable Pathfinder character sheet, I tried a bunch and the best one I found was this one, NEC_PFRG_CharacterSheet3.pdf‎. It’s a three-page sheet (the third page is used for spells and familiars, so it might be optional for you), and makes excellent use of the space. It’s very clearly arranged and has all the derived stats laid out so you can see how to calculate everything. It’s especially great for multi-class characters, with a stack of slots for your various class levels, and a clear way to derive your combined attack bonuses and saving throws.
