IDW’s Forgotten Realms Comic is Not All That Good, Even with Greenwood

Fans of the Forgotten Realms and comic books may have been thrilled to see Realms creator Ed Greenwood’s name as the author of IDW’s new ongoing series. Sadly, the first issue is a muddled disappointment, though it has some bright spots that show the series could improve.

It’s called Mega Dungeon 1. The name alone carries a lot of weight, but it’s the 100 double-sided map sheets that really tip the scales. Those of you with fond memories of the 2nd edition Undermountain boxed sets will be delighted by this giant stack of dungeon maps and the accompanying adventures.

Paizo Publishing has announced the 32 finalists for this year’s edition of RPG Superstar. After hundreds of game designer hopefuls sent in their ideas for wondrous items, Paizo’s panel of experts whittled the field to the best of the best. The winner gets to write a module for Paizo’s D&D 3.5 variant, Pathfinder.
