I’ve got a lengthy post at io9 today about the new releases Fantasy Flight Games has this summer and later this year: X-Wing, Netrunner, the Star Wars RPG, and a slimmed down Game of Thrones card game. Check it out.

The latest entry in the rapidly growing deckbuilding genre is Upper Deck’s Marvel Legendary game, due out in November. I was able to play a demo game at Gen Con. Here are some highlights.

I hope your GenCon was good. This week I would like to talk about a piece of gamer news that caught my attention at GenCon: D&DNext is going to take two years to playtest.

The ubiquity of tablets and smartphones has lead to a burst of new releases that try to incorporate tabletop games with apps. NECA’s HeroClix TabApp lets you put a mini on your iPad and defeat supervillains with your flying fingers of DOOM.
