This is Hezutli, a plant demon who lurked in an ancient tomb protecting a guardian beast from artifact thieves and evil cultists. Hezutli was pretty horrible himself, but that explains why the good guys summoned him to protect their prophecied savior.
This hideous gibbering horror is what my gaming group will be facing later tonight. Why would they choose to confront such a heinous beast from the depths of some creeping, abhorrent dimension?
In part 2, our exclusive interview with the men in charge of Heavy Gear somehow gets even better, as they discuss the role of battle armor in real-world warfare and building an RPG world from the foundation of a wargame. Plus, they pitch a hypothetical Heavy Gear TV series, and to top it all off, [...]
The head honchos at Dream Pod 9 talk up their top notch mecha wargame, Heavy Gear, discuss the anime origins of the giant battle robot genre, and reveal the company’s unexpected connection to the movie 300 in this amazing “virtual roundtable” interview. And this is only part 1.
When you’re seeking an animal namesake for your war mech, cuddly koala bears are probably not the first critters that leap to mind. So how did Heavy Gear’s 08th Airborne Regiment end up with a bunch of mechs called Killer Koalas?
If you’re anything like me, you can’t get enough of military mecha fighting sci-fi battles on distant worlds. Work has been ongoing on the Project: Death Race beta rules. My brother and I conducted an extensive, day-long testing session about two weeks ago. Here are the results, with a gallery of playtest images.
The Project: Death Race fund drive is so close to hitting the $300 goal. But it’s also so close to the deadline. We’re about a week away. You have the power to make a game of heavily armed muscle car combat happen.
I guess 3D is the latest craze in movie theaters (though it seems gimmicky to me, just like it did in the 80s). Harrowing Halls, the latest set of Dungeon Tiles from Wizards of the Coast, makes the jump from two to three dimensions as well, but you don’t need uncomfortable plastic glasses to enjoy [...]
Look over there on the right — see the Project: Death Race Kickstarter ad? Check out the current funding level. We’re almost halfway there!
Purple Pawn has an excellent article up about Iron Wind Metals, maker of fine metal minis. Not only does it include cool inside info (and photos) on the making of the minis, but an in-depth chronology dating back to 1975 and the creation of Ral Partha. The decades in between are a twisting labyrinth of [...]
