Work has been ongoing on the Project: Death Race beta rules. My brother and I conducted an extensive, day-long testing session about two weeks ago. Here are the results, with a gallery of playtest images.
The Project: Death Race fund drive was a success. Holy crap. So, what now?
The Project: Death Race fund drive is so close to hitting the $300 goal. But it’s also so close to the deadline. We’re about a week away. You have the power to make a game of heavily armed muscle car combat happen.
Well, the funding effort is, anyway. Check out the total in the ad over there on the right. Two-thirds of the way there! The deadline is at the end of March. We just need $100 to make it.
Look over there on the right — see the Project: Death Race Kickstarter ad? Check out the current funding level. We’re almost halfway there!
How is the fund-raising drive for Project: Death Race going? Well, you can see over to the right that it’s off to a slow start. But there’s more than a month to go, so don’t despair. Here’s how you can help.
Project: Death Race has been stalled for months now simply because I haven’t had the time to dedicate to revising, testing, rerevising and retesting the rules to push them toward a completed form. So we’re going to try something a little different: a funding drive! Well, we couldn’t really have a bake sale…
The newest revision of the Project: Death Race alpha rules are ready. Numerous bug fixes and a totally new, much simpler collision system are the big changes in this version. Come check out the full change log, download the new rules and join our group of loyal playtesters!
This week is the Origins Game Fair in Columbus, OH, and Robot Viking will be there with all the latest news and reviews on games and gaming products. It’s going to be an awesome week.
At long last, the Project: Death Race rules are ready for their public debut. If you’re new to Robot Viking, Project: Death Race is a game being developed by Robot Viking’s writers and readers. Its goal is to recreate the insane action stunts of movies like The Road Warrior and Death Race: 2000 using 1/64 [...]
Just a quick update (I know it’s been far too long). I am working on Project: Death Race at this very moment. The alpha rules will be posted next week. I tell you that as an absolute, 100 percent guarantee. Get out those Matchbox cars you collected and modded, because a week from now, you’ll [...]
Sword and sorcery themed miniature terrain is pretty easy to come by. Dungeons, castles, tombs…they’re great, but what if you’re playing D20 Modern, or a World of Darkness game? What if your Mutants and Masterminds heroes want to battle Dr. Psychotorg in a 3D representation of downtown during rush hour? WorldWorks Games has that covered.
We’ve been hard at work here at Robot Viking HQ deveoping the first Robot Viking original game. We were hoping to have the alpha rules for Project: Death Race posted this week. So why is it taking so long? ‘Cause this game design stuff is harder than it looks.
This week’s MotW is shameless self-aggrandizement and self-promotion all wrapped in one rusting, heavily-armed package. Why does this beat up old Thunderbird have what appears to be a deck gun mounted on the roof? Because Project: Death Race is underway.
