Privateer Press has a new expansion for Monsterpocalypse ready to hit game stores in April. Big in Japan will take the collectible miniatures game back to its kaiju roots, letting the giant monsters and robots attack Tokyo in the manner of their forefathers.

It’s been just under a year since I made my return to constructed Magic after many years away. My goal was to have fun and be at least slightly competitive. Well, at the last Friday Night Magic before the holidays, I took first place. It’s not exactly a World Championship, but it’s certainly a lot [...]

The era of Star Wars RPG era guides is over, which is probably a good idea, since they’ve already covered every conceivable time period in the Star Wars expanded universe. These new (well, newish) books offer a plethora of options for droid builders and droid characters, plus inside info on Star Wars military organizations, perfect [...]

Having trouble finding enough adventure in the mortal world? Does the Feywild feel tame? The Shadowfell not double-dark enough for you? Then I guess it’s time to go sailing through the Elemental Chaos, where any old random nonsense can happen.

Earlier this week (Dec. 7, specifically), we marked the anniversary of Japan’s attack on the U.S. Naval base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. More than 2,300 Americans were killed on the “date which will live in infamy.” Everyone has their own way of respecting and memorializing both those who lost their lives and those who fought [...]

The first edition of the Draconomicon gave us all the inside info on chromatic dragons for D&D fourth edition. What about the good guys? The latest Draconomicon fleshes out the gold, silver, brass, bronze, copper, orium, iron, steel, mercury and other metallic dragons. Beware: they’re not as noble as you might remember them.

Planechase, Magic’s latest casual format, came out a few months ago, but it took me this long to find some people and play a few games. This updated version of the old Vanguard rules is an unpredictable trip through Magic’s many planes.

So far, we don’t know much about the Eldrazi other than that they made a weird monument that bestows awesome power, yet requires brutal sacrifice. Now we know a little more — next April, they will rise. With the tag line, “And Carnage Shall Follow,” we can assume things won’t be pleasant for planeswalkers when [...]

It’s been far too long since the days of breathless anticipation and constant page refreshing as we waited for each new preview figure from whatever HeroClix set was upcoming. On November 18, HeroClix will be reborn as Wizkids/NECA releases the first HeroClix set in more than a year.

Playing in Magic tournaments is fun, but sometimes budget restrictions can keep you out of constructed events. For that reason, each “season” (each set rotation, roughly) we’ll present to you a budget-friendly Magic deck that’s effective enough to be fun, but filled with mostly commons, uncommons and cheap rares. With Lorwyn gone and Zendikar here, [...]

A few years ago, we started a Halloween tradition with our gaming group. Every Halloween, we get together and play an appropriately themed game for a few hours, often with some kind of house rule that lets the players earn the right to eat candy. If we can manage it, we play on Halloween night, [...]

If your D&D 4E chgaracters have been following along the original set of adventures (starting with H1), the grand finale has finally arrived. Prince of Undeath is the final battle, the ultimate adventure that will bring your characters up to 30th level. At this point, the PCs are basically little gods themselves, so you might [...]
